A Year of Growth, Grace, and Gratitude
Tara McLaughlinIt’s hard to believe how much can happen in twelve months. What began as a dream — a single candle poured with intention — has slowly become something much bigger: a business built from love, memory, and the quiet pursuit of creating something meaningful.
Leaving the safety net of my job wasn’t easy. There’s comfort in routine, in knowing what each day will bring. But somewhere deep down, I knew Woodland & Bloom needed more of me — my time, my heart, my courage. So, I took the leap.
Since then, I’ve worn every hat imaginable: Founder, Maker, Marketer, Content Creator, Financial Consultant, Distributor (and the list goes on). It’s been a learning curve filled with late nights, trial and error, and countless cups of tea. But when I look back at where it all began, I wouldn’t change a thing.
Running a small business in a “saturated market” can make you question yourself — though honestly, what market isn’t saturated these days? The challenge has always been to stay true to Woodland & Bloom: to create products that feel like home, that remind people to pause, breathe, and find comfort in the little moments.
There have been times I’ve reached out to boutiques and heard nothing but silence in return. Those moments can test your confidence, but I keep going because I know the difference these products can make. I know how it feels to come home after a rough day, light a candle, and let the soft scent fill the air — a gentle reminder that you’re safe. That you’re home.
Yes, I still get nervous in front of the camera — that’s my next hurdle to face — but maybe that’s part of the beauty of it all: learning to grow publicly, imperfectly, but always with heart.
As for what’s next? I hope to see Woodland & Bloom nestled in small boutiques and vineyards, surrounded by people who appreciate the thoughtfulness behind every piece. There are new products in the making, inspired by the quiet beauty of nature and the nostalgia it brings.
The past twelve months have been full of lessons, courage, and gratitude. So here’s to what’s ahead — let’s walk the next twelve months together, in the beautiful world of Woodland & Bloom.
